Description
This is the plugpal classic car 5V solid state voltage stabiliser for negative earth vehicles, produced as a reliable way to replace and upgrade the original bi-metallic contact breaker stabilisers used on cars produced in the 50s, 60s and 70s, such as the Ford MK1 Escort and Capri and many others.
The 5V solid state voltage stabiliser uses semi-conductor components to provide your gauges with a stable, constant 5V no matter what the engine revs, vehicle electrical load etc might be, thus ensuring your gauges show you the correct information at all times (well, as accurate as gauges on a vehicle of that age can be expected to be…).
Encased in an ABS enclosure, this product comes with adequate length wiring enabling you to be able to locate it in the best possible position in your vehicle. There are three wires, voltage in, voltage out and an earth wire. The power leads have the correct terminals already attached to enable simple, correct connection to your vehicle’s factory wiring.
Please note this is for a stabiliser that outputs 5V. If you require a stabiliser that outputs 10V, please the plugpal 10V Voltage Stabiliser.
As with all plugpal products, this item is assembled using quality components, the connections being crimped where apropriate, not soldered (due to the risk of stress fracturing of certain connections in environments with large amounts of vibration, such as automotive applications) and waterproofed using adhesive impregnated heatshrink.
